Last weekend, Trent, my mom, my brother, and I all flew out to Ohio to go to my darling friend, Meagan's, wedding. I have known Meagan for over 20 years now, so it was so wonderful to go and see her take this next step in her life.
I first met Meagan when she was 6 and I was 9. She would come and stay with her dad for the summers. At the time, my mom was doing daycare from home, and that is how Meaggy Mo (as we often called her then) came into our lives. I remember as a kid being so excited for summer because I knew Meagan would be coming. And I also remember the let down when summer was over because she would be going back to her mom in Ohio, and I wouldn't get to see her for nine more months. As we got older, she came for shorter amounts of time in the summer, then just for a week or two here and there sometime during the year, so it was such a treat to be able to go to Ohio to see her. It was so wonderful to meet several of the friends that I had heard her speak of for so many years, but had never met.
A funny little story about Meagan. When we were little she used to ask me, oh, I don't know, at least 5 times a summer, "Kiff, if I died, would you speak at my funeral?" Now, you have to understand that we were only about 10 and 7 when she first started asking me this question. While thinking, "What in the heck is she talking about dying for?", I would always answer, "Sure Meag". Then she would follow up with, "Well, what would you say?" I think at the time, what she wanted to know was how much I really thought of her. Well, just so she knows, I think she is one of the most amazing and beautiful (both inside and out) people that I have ever had the priviledge to know. I am so grateful for all of the summers that we were able to spend together. She was like the sister that I never had, and I just adore her.

I will treasure this blog post always! Every compliment you paid me is exactly how I feel about you, Kiff! I will continue to twist Mark's arm about Colorado! It will happen sooner or later-I promise! The wedding wouldn't have been complete without you and I will be forever grateful that you and your incredible family were able to make it. Love you!!
